Bad Santas In the true spirit of
Christmas, the New York Islanders held a promotion last week that invited fans
to dress up as Santa Claus for Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia
Flyers and be admitted to the Nassau Coliseum for free. During the first
intermission those same Santas were allowed to parade across the ice between
periods. About 1,000 Santa Clauses showed up and as promised, they were invited
on the ice after the first period.
Two creative NY Rangers fans came up
with teh bright idea of attending the promotion decked out in their Santa
attire with one little twist. During the intermission parade they took off
their Santa jackets, only to reveal Ranger jerseys underneath.
The
parade turned into a charade as several of the other Santas jumped the Ranger
St Nicks and tore the Ranger shirts right of off their backs. The donneybrook
took several minutes to get under control and almost delayed the start o teh
second period.
When New York's Arron Asham learned about what had
happened, he grinned and replied, "Awesome." |
