| HISTORY |
| Kyle McLaren was
drafted ninth overall in the 1995 Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins. On October
7, 1995, he made his NHL debut in a match against the Islanders. That rookie
season, Kyle played 74 games and tallied 17 points. At year's end, he was named
an All-Rookie Team defenceman. In 1996-97, still a teenager, Kyle scored 14
points in 58 games. In 1997-98, he scored 25 points and helped the Bruins
improve 30 points under coach of the year Pat Burns. In 1998-99, Kyle tallied
24 points, 205 hits and 69 blocked shots in just 52 games. In 1999-2000, he
scored 17 points, knocked 282 hits and blocked 155 shots in 71 games. In
2000-01, Kyle scored 17 points and knocked 156 hits in 58 games. |
| SCOUTING
REPORT |
| McLaren is a big
physical defenseman that isn't afraid to throw his body around. Likes to lower
the boom, but it has taken its toll on his body. Played in only 38 games in
2001-02 because of injury. |
